THE WOLF VALLEY CHARITY PRESENTS A MINIBUS TO CC VALE SILVES

The Community Center of Vale Silves (CCVS) is located near Boliqueime.  It was founded in 1990 by Dra. Maria Armanda Silva and her late husband with help from people in the local community.  It is a privately run non-profit institution providing social, economic, cultural and sporting development for the local area.  It provides a number of social activities which include:

Recently the Wolf Valley Charity Fund presented the CCVS with a new specially equipped Ford minibus adapted for wheelchair access costing €43,000.

António Tá Certo, the well known restaurant on Praia do Garrão and famous for its charcoal grilled fish, participated in the fund raising.

Accepting the minibus Dra. Maria Armanda said “Today is a very happy day for us and all members of Boliqueime’s Community. With the help of the WVCF we can expand the activities of the community centre, leisure and extracurricular activities as well as increasing the number of people included in the home care program.

This minibus will be used especially to bring the elderly with physical disabilities (who depend on wheelchairs) to activities in the center (such as community gatherings, physical activities, ceramic, cognitive stimulation) and to provide transportation to patients’ houses to perform supervised physical activities (adapted to their individual needs) and cognitive stimulation and avoiding their isolation.  The new minibus is also available for other needs from Boliqueime community members.

So in the name of the institution, and for all the members of the community, we would like to thank the WVCF for your kindness and solidarity with the neediest persons in our community”.

This new vehicle was blessed by Father Joel Teixeira of the San Sebastian Church in Boliqueime on Sunday March 22, 2015.

The next WVCF Golf and Family Charity Day at Vale do Lobo will be on Saturday May, 30th., 2015.  For more information about the WVCF and to make bookings on the Royal and Ocean courses please visit its website www.wolfvalleycharity.com
